Tenant's
Obligations
When
a family selects a housing unit that passes a Housing Quality Inspection,
the family signs a lease with the property owner for at least one
year. After the initial one-year term, either the tenant or the
property owner may provide a full 30-day calendar month notice to
terminate the lease. A property owner can request payment of one
month's rent as a security deposit from the tenant. After the first
year the landlord may initiate a new lease or allow the family to
remain in the unit on a month-to-month lease.
Families
are expected to comply with the lease and the program requirements,
pay their share of rent on time, maintain the unit in a clean and
sanitary condition, and notify CTI of any changes in income or family
composition.
