Having Trouble Paying Your Mortgage? We Can Help!
Community Teamwork, Inc. (CTI), in partnership with the Coalition for a Better Acre and several other community-based organizations, opened the Lowell Office of the Home Preservation Coalition of the Merrimack Valley (HPC) to offer FREE counseling and other services to homeowners facing foreclosure. The City of Lowell joins numerous other communities across the country to complete a 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness. Take a look at the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness and visit the SHIFT Coalition's web page for related information about homelessness prevention.


The National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH) released a report entitled Homelessness Counts. This report provides stats on the numbers of homeless individuals and families across the nation that can be used as a baseline for monitoring trends. Community Teamwork's Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC) offers a wide range of housing services and information to homebuyers, tenants, and landlords from Greater Lowell. BRIK, an acronym for Building Resilience in Kids, is a small non-profit helping children who have been stressed by poverty and trauma. BRIK helps children directly and through their caregivers to build resilience, and provides innovative training for both after-school workers and public school teachers in Lowell. Home Modification Loan Program
Allowing people to remain in their homes and live independently is the goal of the Home Modification Loan Program. CTI administers this program in the Northeast/North Shore area to help families obtain low-interest or no-interest loans to make modifications to their homes for elderly residents or those with disabilities. The Jericho Road Project's mission is to match the talents and resources of volunteers with professional expertise with the needs of Lowell community based organizations and small businesses that can help individuals and families become economically self-sustaining. Jericho Road has assisted numerous organizations with a variety of projects including strategic planning, web development, board training, etc. For more information, call Dan Holin, Executive Director of the Jericho Road Project at 978-369-9602, x457.


The Homes for Good Program is an initiative of the Massachusetts Nonprofit Housing Association (MNPHA). Through a contract with the Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development , the Association and its members monitor the sales of properties that were developed using resources from the Commonwealth. The goal of the Homes for Good Program is to ensure that the homes are kept affordable and available to moderate income, first-time homebuyers. CTI, through its Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC), is pleased to participate in the Homes for Good Program.
