A Huge Success!

This year's 7th Annual "Key West" Carnival Fundraiser to Prevent Homelessness was a great success thanks to our terrific co-chairs Lowell Mayor Edward "Bud" Caulfield and Vice Mayor Rita Mercier and a TEAM of very dedicated board members, CTI employees and community partners. We raised approximately $60,000 for the SHIFT Homelessness Prevention program, threw a fun tropical party for 500 of our friends and supporters and generated awareness about homelessness in the Merrimack Valley. A special THANK YOU is extended to everyone who made this year's Carnival a huge success.
The event itself was good fun offering up Latin-fusion Zumba dancing, Jimmy Buffett music, dance contests, auctions, 50/50 and Triple Play raffles, fortune tellers, a delicious Lenzi's island buffet and exciting cash prizes. Our lucky prize winners include Sera Murray from Shrewsbury, winner of the $10,000 Grand Prize; Peter Aucella of the Lowell Nat’l Historical Park, winner of the $500 cash prize; Doris Bellrose, $1,057 winner of the 50/50 raffle; and Child & Family Services’ Meg Gaffney, winner of the Triple Play – 2 Red Sox, 2 Celtics, 2 Bruins tickets plus free parking (donated by New England Medical Insurance and Trinity EMS)! We are grateful to all of our committee members and sponsors and we wish to thank them for making Carnival 2009 the best one ever!
